The staff types library populates the list of occupations used when creating or managing staff members, and the list of service types used when creating or managing providers (resources).
The staff types library is located in Administration Setup. You must have appropriate permissions to access the Staff Types library.
To perform the following procedures, in Administration Setup, double-click the Staff Types icon.
Add a Staff Type
- Click [Add Staff Type] on the toolbar.
- Make sure the Status is set to Active.
- In the Staff Type drop-down list, select either Provider or, for staff such as office administrators and receptionists, select Non-Provider.
- Enter the Occupation for staff members of this type.
- Enter the Service Type provided by staff members of this type (e.g. massage therapy, receptionist).
- Enter the non-CAT hourly Rate for the staff type.
Tip: To quickly update the hourly rate for all providers with this Staff Type, check the Update MVA provider service rate box. This feature is most useful when you need to update the hourly rate for multiple providers at once. - Complete the Provider Type Codes table as appropriate, These are the reference codes for provider type staff, as provided by the governing body for those providers. In general, codes are provided only for MVA in the province of Ontario: for a current list, click here.
- Click Save and Close.
Edit a Staff Type
- Locate and double-click on a staff type.
- Make changes to the staff type details.
- Click Save and Close.
Delete a Staff Type
- Locate and select a staff type.
- Click [Delete Staff Type] on the toolbar.
- Click Yes when prompted.
Deactivate or Reactivate a Staff Type
- Locate and double-click on a staff type.
- Change its Status to active or Inactive.
- Click Save and Close.
