This article helps you add and manage Master Keys (Master Numbers) in Universal Office. Master Keys are the four-digit unique numbers assigned by the Ministry of Health to identify the facility in which an insured service was rendered. This number is required for OHIP billing, when the Service Location Indicator (SLI) is HDS, HED, HIP, HOP or HRP.

To perform the following procedures, in Administration Setup, double-click the Master Keys icon.

Add a Master Key

  1. Click [Add Master Key] on the toolbar.
  2. Ensure the Status is set to Active.
  3. Enter the Master Key Code.
  4. Choose the Service Locator Code (Service Locator Indicator) to which this Master Key corresponds.
  5. Enter a Description for the Master Key.
  6. Click Save and Close.

Deactivate or Reactivate a Master Key

  1. Locate and double-click the Master Key.
  2. Change the Status to Active or Inactive.
  3. Click Save and Close.

Edit a Master Key

  1. Locate and double-click the Master Key.
  2. Make changes to the Master Key Code, Service Locator Code or Description.
  3. Click Save and Close.

Delete a Master Key

  1. Locate and select a Master Key.
  2. Click [Delete Master Key] on the toolbar.
  3. Click Yes when prompted.
