This article helps you add and manage the following injury code types (also known as injury and diagnostic codes) in Universal Office:
- ICD-9 codes, used in OHIP and WSIB billing
- ICD-10-CA, an enhanced version of the ICD-10, developed by CIHI for morbidity classification in Canada. For more information, click here.
The Injury and Diagnostic Codes library is located in Administration Setup. You must have appropriate permissions to access the Injury and Diagnostic Codes library.
To perform the following procedures, log in to Administration Setup and double-click the Injury and Diagnostic Codes icon.
Add an Injury Codes Group
Note: An Injury Code Group cannot be deleted.
- Click [Add Injury Group] on the toolbar.
- In the Type list, select the appropriate Injury Codes Type (for example, ICD-10-CA).
- Enter the Group description.
- Click Save and Close.
Add an Injury Code to a Group
- Locate and double-click the Injury Codes Group.
- Right-click inside an empty row of the Injury Code table and select Add.
- Make sure that the Status is set to Active, then enter the Code and Description.
- Click Save and Close.
Edit an Injury Codes Group
- Locate and double-click the Injury Codes Group.
- Make changes to the Type and Description, as required.
- Click Save and Close.
Edit an Injury Code
- Locate and double-click the Injury Codes Group.
- Locate and right-click the Injury Code, then select Edit.
- Make changes to the Code and Description.
- Click Save and Close.
Delete an Injury Code
Note: A code cannot be used once it has been deleted.
- Locate and double-click the Injury Codes Group containing the code to be deleted.
- Locate and right-click the Injury code, then select Delete.
- Click Yes when prompted.
Deactivate or Reactivate an Injury Code
- Locate and double-click the Injury Codes Group containing the code to be modified.
- Locate and right-click the injury code, then select Edit.
- Change its Status to Active or Inactive.
- Click Save and Close.
