You have two options to connect to VPN from remote PCs; 1) via the built-in Windows VPN client, or 2) the SoftEther VPN Client app.
We recommend using the Built-in Windows VPN Client. However, if for some reason this method does not work, then you’ll want to go with the SoftEther VPN Client app.
Built-in Windows VPN Client
- Go to Start > Settings.
- Click on Network & Internet.
- Select VPN from the left pane.
- Click Add a VPN connection.
- Fill in the information as follows:
- VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
- Connection name: Organization Name Office
- Server name or address: PROVIDED.softether.net
- VPN type: L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key
- Pre-shared key: provided pre-shared key
- Type of sign-in info: User name and password
- Username: provided username
- Password: provided password
- Make sure the Remember my sign-in info box is checked, then click Save.
To connect, simply click the network icon in your system tray, select the VPN connection you just set up, then click Connect.
IMPORTANT: While connected to VPN, all your network traffic will be sent over that connection.
To disconnect from a VPN, again, click the network icon in your system tray, select it and click Disconnect.
