This article will help you define preset categories, which group together related document presets and templates. Universal Office ships with built-in (system) Preset Categories for letters, invoice comments, OCFs, and custom treatment plans. You may add custom Text Editor preset categories for medical documents, correspondence records, and SOAP notes.

Note: In the Preset Manager, “categories” are identified as “preset types”.

The preset categories are located in Administration Setup. You must have permissions to access the Preset Categories library. To perform the following procedures, in Administration Setup, double-click the Preset Categories icon.

Add a Preset Category

Note: You may add only to Text Editor type preset categories.

  1. Click [Add Preset Category] on the toolbar.
  2. Select the Document Type:
    • for presets to be used when creating documents from the Documents tab of the patient case file (such as medical documents, assessment reports, etc.), choose Medical Document
    • for presets to be used when creating documents from the Correspondence tab of the patient case file (such as letters to adjusters, letters to family physicians, etc.), choose Correspondence Document
    • for presets to be used when creating documents from the SOAP Notes tab of the patient case file (such as initial assessment reports, re-assessment reports, chiro SOAP notes, etc.), choose SOAP Document
  3. Enter a Description (e.g. Medical Assessments).
  4. From the Link to case list, select the type of case (EHC, MVA, Private, Slip & Fall, or WSIB) for which the preset category should be available, or select All to have the preset available for all case types.
  5. Click Save and Close.

Edit a Preset Category

Note: Only Text Editor preset categories can be edited.

  1. Locate and double-click on a preset category.
  2. Make changes as necessary, including rearranging the fields using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.
Note: Preset Type and Document Type cannot be modified.
  3. Click Save and Close.

Delete a Preset Category

Note: Only Text Editor preset categories can be deleted.

  1. Locate and select a preset category.
  2. Click [Delete Preset Category] on the toolbar.
  3. Click Yes when prompted.

Caution! Once you delete a preset category from Administration Setup, all its associated templates are deleted as well. You may not undo this action.

  2. Change the Status to Active or Inactive.
