This article will help you set up the SMS service (Text Messages) for use with eBroadcast.
Once configured, you can send your patients SMS broadcast messages and have automatic appointment reminders sent right to their mobile phones.
IMPORTANT: At this time, Universal Office works exclusively with Swift SMS Gateway. You will need to sign up to Swift SMS Gateway before you can configure your SMS Settings. See the How to Sign Up For Swift SMS Gateway article for more information.
Get Your Swift SMS Gateway Account Key
- Login to your Swift SMS Gateway account. If you have not yet set up your account, sign up here.
Note: Your Account Key as assigned by Swift SMS Gateway is located in the table at the top of the page. Optionally, you can find your Account Key in the API tab.
Connect Swift SMS Gateway with Universal Office
- Open eBroadcast and select Settings.
- Select SMS Service, then Click Configure.
- Enter your Swift SMS Gateway Account key.
Note: Your Dedicated Long Code Number (10-digit sending number) is associated with your Account Key and will be used to send SMS messages. You can view and manage your Dedicated Long Code Number from your SMS Gateway control panel in the Number Management tab. - Click Save.
Tip: To clear settings and start over, click Reset SMS service settings.
Test SMS Service Settings
To make sure your SMS service settings are configured correctly, send a test message.
