  • Add and Update Codes in Patient Case
  • Add Codes from Preset to Patient Case
  • Prioritize Codes

This article will help you add ICD-10 CA Injury Codes to patient cases as well as to the ICD sections of the OCF-3, OCF-18, OCF-21, and OCF-23 claim form documents.

To perform the following procedures, in the Patient Manager, select a Patient from the list on the left and open an MVA Case.

Add and Update Codes in Patient Case

  1. On the General tab, in the Injury/Diagnosis section, click Add Injuries.
The Patient Case Injuries window opens.
    Patient-Case-Injuries
  2. Enter all or part of the injury description (e.g. “headache”) in the Search Box, then click Search or press Enter.
Tip: To search by Injury Code, click the arrow next to Search and select Code.
A list of matching Injury Codes is shown.
  3. Check the box for each Injury Code you want to add, then click Add Selection.
The code(s) are added to the Patient Injuries List.
Tip: If you know the Injury Code you want to add, click inside a blank cell in the Code column of the Patient Injuries List section and start entering the code, then select from the drop-down list of matching codes.
  4. If necessary, repeat steps 2-3 to add more Injury Codes.
  5. Click Save & Close.
The selected codes are listed in the Injury/Diagnosis section of the General tab.

Add Codes from Preset to Patient Case

You can add codes to a patient case based on an existing Preset (a custom combination of Injury Codes). For more information, see Create and Manage Injury Preset Lists article.

  1. On the General tab, in the Injury/Diagnosis section, click Add Injuries.
The Patient Case Injuries window opens.
  2. Click Duplicate.
  3. Select one of the available Presets, then click Apply.
The Injury Codes from the Preset are now shown in the Patient Injuries List.
  4. Click Save & Close.

Prioritize Codes

You should reorganize and prioritize the List of Injuries, ensuring that injuries are listed in order of severity (typically from the most to the least severe) rather than in the order in which they were added to the case.
In the Patient Injuries List section of the Patient Case Injuries window, use the [Up] and [Down] arrows to change the order of Injury Codes within the list.
